FOOD ~ July 2015

Published August 3, 2015   Posted in Budgets

We are over again this month. As I mentioned in the July Budget we had to stock up on some necessary staples such as olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and peanut butter. These supplies should last us a few months. So you’ll see that reflected in the Canned Goods area below. Otherwise pretty good month and as always delicious!

Anyway, here is where the money went:

— Groceries: $380.81–

Fruits and Veggies: $169.05

Canned Goods: $97.20

Vegan ‘Meat’: $9.03

Meat, Seafood and Dairy: $36.01 (Steve’s Parmesan cheese)

Dry Goods: $69.92

Alcohol: $0.00  moved this into our fun money purchases.

House Supplies: $ We are now accounting for this cost in our household budget.

Minus 40 cents from our bag credits. Gotta love a little extra savings 😉

  1. 36 bucks on Parmesan cheese Steve??? Get your shit together man! 🙂

Now this is a grocery list my wife would certainly embrace.

  3. Those are great numbers. Looks like just 1 of my costco runs.

  4. Mr. SSC says:

Yeah, Alcohol has mostly moved into our “Fun Money” accounts as well. Not always, but mostly. Love the parmesan exception . 🙂

  5. That’s some pricey cheese! 🙂 You guys are still kicking our butts on groceries, but we got our spending down almost $150 for July, compared to June!

  6. Food’s always our biggest expense. We spend close to 80-100 a week. And we’ve noticed that cheese invariably takes up 10-20 bucks a week. 10 bucks will nab us two bags of cheese around here. Before we started paying much attention to our spending, we never would have guessed that cheese was so expensive.
