The Friday Feast ~ the 10th of February
The personal finance community is filled with so many talented writers and inspiring families in search of something better out of life than the traditional society-approved plan of buying lots of stuff and retiring in your 60s if you're lucky.

Here is a look at the best of this week's personal finance blogs.

In this episode of Friday Feast: Mighty Bargain Hunter, Personal Finance King, Debt Ascent, The Money Wizard, Fireball Finances, Live FrugaLee, Millionaire Before 50, Prairie Eco-Thrifter, Max Your Freedom and Mixed Money Arts.

Welcome to the end of another week. The Friday Feast is my opportunity to highlight some of the best personal finance content that I read during the week. Both old and new articles get mentioned here because I enjoy going through people's posting archives.

Now, on to the personal finance blogosphere!

We start off with a post from Mighty Bargain Hunter who writes about making the "other" eight hours of your day valuable.

Oh, and Personal Finance King talked about something close to my heart - giving notice that you're quitting WAY the hell in advance.

My favorite post of the week

My favorite post this week comes from Debt Ascent, which is a brand new blog to the personal finance blogosphere. They are paying off $500,000 in student loans. Holy shit.

"While a majority of students today graduate with some level of student loan debt, we happened to be well above the normal distribution with a sum of over $500,000 between the two of us." - Apparently, she pursued dentistry, which accounts for a large portion of the debt.

I love what they are doing. I love their motivation and desire to murder that debt as soon as possible, meticulous and structured.

"Our debt is a temporary inconvenience and nothing more."

Check out this new blog, and I'll definitely be following their adventures.

More from the personal finance community

The Money Wizard talks about what poker taught him about investing.

Over at Fireball Finances, they are talking about focus - and how to focus like an f-ing lion.

Also, Live FrugaLee writes about an interesting dilemma: Should you put off your career to travel?

Lastly, Millionaire Before 50 argues why it is important for parents to save up for their kid's college education.

Honorable mentions: Prairie Eco-Thrifter talks revenge spending, Max Your Freedom asks if you'd spend $600 bucks on a dinner, lastly, Mixed Money Arts talks about how personal finance has improved other areas of his life.

    Photo of the week

I proposed to my wife in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (back in 2014). Then, we did this. One of our hand prints is wearing the ring. She was crazy enough to say yes. ;)

We are on our way to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - where my wife and I got engaged!

Coming up in the week ahead on ThinkSaveRetire: On Monday, I am publishing a little mini-rant about a conversation I had the other week about...having kids! And on Wednesday, I am dishing out a guest post from someone who destroyed their expensive mortgage in less than eight years. Inspiring!

Thanks for reading, and cheers to another financially productive week ahead!
